What Your Headboard Says About You!
Did you know that the headboard you choose for your bed can
speak volumes about who you are? Of course, many people
don't think about this, especially since bedrooms are fairly
private. However, if anyone does venture into your private
sanctuary, they'll find a lot of information just from the
decorations you've chosen for your personal space,
especially in the form of your headboard.
If you have a metal headboard, you're telling people that
you are sensible and no nonsense. While the actual type of
metal may say something else, your choice of metal means
that you are mindful of the need to decorate (otherwise, you
wouldn't have a headboard in the first place), yet frugal in
expenditures. A metal headboard is inexpensive compared to
wooden ones, and your option to save money shows your regard
for the ability to scrimp while still maintaining beautiful
décor.
If the metal headboard is made of iron, you have modern
taste and enjoy the harshness of the style and coloring. The
unfinished look of this metalwork speaks volumes of your
love of efficient and minimal decor. A wrought iron
headboard also shows your love for the metalworking itself,
with some of the shapes into which the iron is molded can be
quite intricate and artistic, despite its minimalistic
appearance.
If you have chosen a brass headboard, however, it says
something totally different about you. You like the shine of
the metal and the way it calls attention to itself. You've
chosen metal because it is less expensive and makes more
sense on a budget, but you still want a sense of
fancifulness and Renaissance style decor. You like to dream
of the past and perhaps don't completely approve of where
the future will take you, at least in terms of design
standards.
If your bed is topped with a wooden headboard, you are as
classical as they come. No matter how intricate the carvings
in the wood or how simple the design of the board, this
tells visitors prying into your room that you want to feel
important and protected. An especially large or tall wooden
headboard can either mean that you feel the need to be
watched over or that you have an air of superiority about
yourself. It speaks to your need for extravagance and
expensive taste and gives you a sense of empowerment.
Reading your headboard can be much like analyzing your
handwriting in terms of determining factors of your
personality. Taste in furnishings, clothes, cars - literally
everything we touch - is developed by our personality so can
give others clues to who we really are.
Headboards are as varied as there are people. Contemporary
or Traditional, Wood, Upholstered or Metal, Headboards
provide a way to set the tone in the room you spend so much
time in. Whether you see yourself as a Warrior or an Earth
Mother, Computer Genius or Farmer, there are Headboards that
can help you express that persona. Take the time to make
your bedroom your special private retreat. It will create a
peaceful place to come home to.
